From acrylics to watercolors, pastels to charcoal, fiber art to digital art, I've spent years as a National Board Certified art teacher and had the privilege of working with artists of all ages. I'd love to help you on your art journey!
Unlike many artists who commit to one medium, I find moving between mediums can often help me problem-solve my work. It's not unusual for me to have two easels set up so I can create the same image two different ways. I learn something new each time.

My work often begins with curiosity - making time and space to pay attention. This might be noticing the dappled light in a patch of leaves, the quirky motion of a toddler's walk or the juxtaposition of a rosebud on an asphalt surface.

Online process videos always pique my curiosity. So I tried it too! This is 6 hours of painting/drying time on a watercolor portrait compressed into 3 minutes.
Having the camera rolling changed the way I worked - I found I painted faster and felt more anxious. But I confess, I do really enjoy watching (and rewatching) the "quick" evolution of the painting itself.
